So how does the Reseller Program work?
In most cases you would publish your own web site advertising our hosting
packages as if they are your own. You can charge any price you think
the market will pay. When someone orders a hosting package from you then
you simply visit our my.kangaweb.com Control Panel and place an order on behalf of your
client. We then setup the hosting account promptly and email you the details. You can then pass on those details to
your client. KangaWeb remains anonymous in the process. You provide
technical support to your client, but our high-quality customer service
team will be on-hand to help you if you come across questions you are
unable to answer yourself.
What are GigaBlocks?
GigaBlocks are a great new
feature of KangaWeb's reseller program, introduced to ensure even greater
flexibility for our reseller partners. A GigaBlock is a bulk set of hosting
features which you can divide up into multiple hosting accounts as you
see fit. There are no charges for setting up each website within a
GigaBlock!
The purchase of GigaBlocks is entirely optional. If you prefer you can
simply resell our regular hosting plans, sell just your own hosting plans
for your GigaBlock, or do both!

How much Internet and/or Unix experience do I need to be a Reseller?
To provide a quality service to your clients, you will need to be familiar with
the tasks involved in publishing and operating an Internet site. If you are
familiar with FTP and HTML and perhaps other Internet technologies
(such as SSL, POP, Telnet, Unix/Linux etc) then you should not have too much trouble, and we will be
happy to provide technical support while you learn the ropes.
How is your billing handled? What is your billing cycle?
We will bill you directly for all monies due for your own account(s) and
any resold accounts. You will then be responsible for getting payments from your own
customers. You are free to charge your customers any price which you think the
market will bear.
Payments due for additional accounts will be calculated on a monthly, pro-rata
basis and billed on your billing date.
This means you only have to worry about paying
us once a month. We will always email you with an invoice approximately one week
before your billing date so that you are aware of the amount due and can make your
payment. Payments can be made by BPAY, credit card (VISA, MasterCard), cheque or money order.
For a detailed example of how your billing cycle will work, please see
Appendix A of the Reseller Handbook.
How do I register domain names for US$16.50?
When you place an order for a new hosting account through our Reseller Program
and require a new domain name for the site, then you will qualify to have that domain
name registered for only US$16.50. Domains are registered through
our own registration system at
http://register.linuxengine.net.
There are a few things you should know about this service:
- Only .com and .net domain names can be registered through this
facility;
- You qualify for the US$16.50 registration as soon as the
site is set up on our servers. As soon as we email you with the new
account's details then you will be able to visit our Registration Site to register the domain
name for US$16.50. If you register the domain name prior
to having the hosting account set up then you will be charged US$20.90 for the registration;
- This offer is only available to Reseller Gold and Flexible Reseller
customers;
- The domain name registration fee will appear on your
next bill. The US dollar amount will be converted to Australian dollars based
on WorldPay.com's daily exchange rate.
Do I have to arrange the transfer of domain names?
Our regular domain name transfer procedures apply to resold accounts - we will provide you with the necessary name server information
for you to arrange the transfer of you and your clients' domains. Please
see our
Domain Name FAQ for details.
How can I find out more about your hosting packages and features?
Just visit our main site at http://www.kangaweb.com.au for all the details. In particular,
you might like to review the following pages:
Remember that the prices advertised on our main site are full retail prices and
that, as a Reseller, you will be entitled to the discount as outlined in our
Reseller Plans page.
Will KangaWeb Technologies remain anonymous to my clients?
We will certainly endeavour to do so. We will never contact your clients about
their account(s) or attempt to 'steal' them from you in any way. We use
anonymous (non-kangaweb) name servers when registering or transferring resold
accounts so that 'KangaWeb' does not appear in a WHOIS lookup of your clients' domain
name records. You can also purchase your own name server aliases if you wish
(ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com) - this service is available for AU$82.50 setup and AU$55.00 per month.
Can I host clients in sub-directories of my own domain?
Unfortunately you are unable to host clients in sub-directories of your own domain (hosting account). The hosting of multiple sites
under one hosting account is against the Terms and Conditions outlined for account holders. These days, with domain names being so
cheap, we have found that non-virtual hosting is not very popular. You can still allow your clients to use virtual domain names based on
your own domain name (e.g. http://yourclient.yourdomain.com), you just require a separate hosting account for each virtual domain in
order to do this.
I am thinking of joining the Reseller Gold program. Will I have to share
my 300 MB of web space with my clients?
Whenever you order a resold hosting account, such as a Small Business Starter
account, then the new hosting account will be completely independent from your own
Reseller Gold web space. The new account will have its own disk space allowance and
will not consume any of your 300 MB.
How much money can I expect to make as a KangaWeb reseller?
Our Reseller Program provides an excellent opportunity to make healthy profits.
Please refer to our Profit Projection Example for more
information.
